How old do I have to be to sign up for classes?
You must be at least 15 years and 5 months old.
How old do I have to be to get my temps?
To get your temps, you need to be at least 15 years and 6 months old.
How much does it cost?
Our in-car training is $450. If you take your 24-hour classroom course in person with us in Bucyrus, that $450 covers both the classroom and your 8 hours of in-car driving. If you take your classroom hours online instead (for example through Pass Drivers Ed), you'll pay that provider their own fee for the online course, and $450 to us for your 8 hours of in-car training.
What does the under-21 course include?
Ohio requires every driver under 21 to complete 24 hours of classroom or online instruction plus 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training with our instructors.
How do I sign up?
Give us a call at 740-725-9990 and we'll get you started. If you're taking your classroom hours online, you can also sign up directly with Pass Drivers Ed and give us a call to schedule your in-car hours.
How do I get my temporary permit?
You will need documents that demonstrate your full legal name, date of birth, social security number, proof of citizenship (or legal presence), and proof of residency (a document that shows your street address). At the BMV office you will be required to take a vision test and a written driving knowledge test. If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent or guardian with you.
How do I get my license?
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have held your temporary permit for at least 6 months before testing, and you'll need a completed 50-Hour Affidavit (your supervised driving log) at the BMV. Drivers 18 to 20 don't have that 6-month waiting period — but as of a 2025 change to Ohio law, they now also need to complete driver's education before testing, the same as under-18 drivers. Once you've completed your driver's education course, you'll make an appointment at a driver's examination station for your road test, bringing your permit and your Certificate of Completion from the driving school.
